If you have ever heard, "There is Noting New Under the Sun" this site gives that statement a whole new meaning when it comes to new designs or patents.

Any suggestions for a good flip flop valve? The Decker unit was really good but seems to have disappeared.

Can someone please tell me what the advantages are between a unidirectional and bidirectional blocking fitting ?
I am confused because when I look at the schematic the only difference I see is the pilot line on the uni is not exhausted and the bidirect it is .
Thanks in advance to anyone you can assist.

My company is a customer conveyor mfr with gross sales around $10million. We do pneumatic options like pushoffs and lifts maybe 10-20 times per year.

Historically we have utilized SMC, Bimba, Norgren etc with no real rhyme or reason to it, and haven't gotten much of a feeling for an advantage to SMC vs Norgren on valves and air line prep equpment we typically provide.

We are now using Inventor to model these options in 3D. Both SMC and Norgren websites seem to provide good models on the fly, though SMC seems more complete and thorough in our limited experience.

What is the reputation of these two in the market? What about the general price comparisons? Warranty? Service and support up to and after the sale? Which is more prevalent in industry?

I have a compressor with the following specs:

    "Compressor, Air, 4 Stage
    Hydraulic Motor Driven
    Pressure – 3000psi
    Capacity – 2.4 SCFM
    P/N 891406Hydraulic Motor Requirements
    Pressure – 2500 PSI
    Flow – 1.6 GPM

    Serial No. 811011

    U.S.
    Walter Kidde & Co., Inc.
    Belleville, NJ"

The setup was mounted as seen in this pic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v154/TriggaNometry/IMGP0282.jpg

It appears that the compressor should have been driven by a hydraulic motor rather than a pulley and turned by the gas engine.

The spline on the compressor shaft (that has a pulley on it) has completely worn and now looks like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v154/TriggaNometry/MVC-009F.jpg

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? Should I just get a new shaft/spline made? Should I attach it as it was or now use a hydraulic motor to drive it while also using the gas engine? I have no idea what to do because I am not trained in any of this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Frank
