They are called 4 way(which I think is correct) or 5 way for the number of ports. I think that the original valve companies used to make them with a common exhaust (4 port) and the name stuck. So when the 5th port shopwed up it caused some confususion.
adminParticipantfor example 5/2 way valve… 5 means the no. of port, and 2 means the no. of position.
adminParticipantI normally tell people that when describing a directional control valve, to just use numbers and avoid “ways”. example is: if during a telephone conversation, the person on the other end of a line wants to crossover a “four-way valve”. I that is receiving the call, don’t really know whether he is using a 4-port or a 5-port valve (unless I ask him how many exhaust ports his valve has). This is the reason why I avoid “way”. It is just very confusing to all. Why just use numbers…like a 4/2 valve is a 4-port, 2-position AND a 5/2 valve is a 5-port, 2-position. I’ve seen books describing a 5-port as five-way (the Industrial Training Zone, ITZ). Whereas other books described a 5-port as “four-way”
adminParticipantwhat type of gas?
adminParticipantMaybe Beswick Engineering has a product in development. http://www.beswick.com/
adminParticipantThere is a unit on the market for high pressure applications. Maximum 414 Bar inlet pressures with a set outlet pressure of between 1 and 172 Bar (2500 PSI). This unit is 1/4″NPT threaded with a maximum flow of 1500 l/min – this is a non relieving type piston regulator. Brass construction. H = 175mm W = 55mm. These units retail at over £1700 each (not cheap)
adminParticipantCan you compete with the prices of filters, regulators and lubricators sold by harbor freight. These components that are sold by parker and others perform about the same as those sold by harbor freight. Why should I waste my money on higher priced products.
adminParticipantContact Norgren for a QM/13063/00 kit
adminParticipantif you get no luck from norgren then accltd.com And yes, i work for them and yes we have one in stock.. Its down as “RATIONALISED SPARES SET” so the price is high, norgren up the prices of older items due to economics of scale.. still, cheaper than a new cylinder! if you are outside of the uk email sales@accltd.com or me personally @ adam@accltd.com
adminParticipantHi, Yes I know Pneumission. They keep emailing me to become a dealer. Pneumission is from China and are predominantly a wholesaler of pneumatic products. (They are not a manufacture but a good marketing company). Have reasonable prices but not sure of quality. They produce very little of what they market. I have many years of experience in the Asian markets as to who are producers and who are not, whom are good and whom you should stay away from. If you need more information please contact me. If you require a good solid supplier from Asia let me know. Thanks MC
adminParticipantDo you have a cross reference catalog for all Parker, SMC and Norgren components (valves, cylinders, filters, regulators, lubricators, fittings etc.) made in china. If so how can I get a copy of the catalog.
adminParticipantAnyone? Is my question maybe unclear to you? Explain what’s hard to understand and maybe I can decode it for you. Thanks again, -Steve
adminParticipantI agree, there should be less condensate avaliable from air pressurized at 50psi than 100psi.
adminParticipantWhy do you need so much pneumatics pressure? Can you use a hydraulic cylinder?
adminParticipantThis is an old Martonair Valve that may be obsolete, check with Norgren to see if they can help.
