    IF 2 CYLINDERS ARE MOUNTED SIDE BY SIDE DO THEY GENERATE TWICE THE AMOUNT OF FORCE?

    On top of Yes; Mounted in series they only have the force of one cylinder. In case of different bores it would be the force of the smaller one. If mounnted as opposing, such as clamping a part from boh sides, they would only exert the force of the smaller one also.
